Emergency Response

Saracen recognises that, even with the best planning to prevent incidents, it is imperative that we have a capable Mines Rescue Team that is able to mitigate any emergency event on the mine site and in our local communities.

In support of this, Saracen have two fully-operational Mines Rescue Teams, composed of Saracen employees and contractors who are qualified through nationally recognised certification and can respond to a variety of events across all areas of the organisation, including the process plant, exploration, open pit and underground mining environments.

Both teams train on a regular basis and have a working team list of over 40 members, showing the commitment to this important aspect of safety management at our sites.

Equipment on site includes medics, ambulances, medical facilities and treatment rooms, access to doctors over the phone or via Facetime, fire-fighting trucks and trailers, rope access and rescue equipment and hot and cold training facilities.
