Gold Production
Saracen Mineral Holdings Limited joined the ranks of Australian mid-tier gold producers when production began at the Carosue Dam gold project in 2010.
Gold production will be over two stages from within the South Laverton gold field, situated 120km NE of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. This staged approach provides low CAPEX requirements, enhanced risk management and production flexibility.
The first stage production involves mining of the following gold deposits over approximately a three to five year period:
- Porphyry cut-back
- Whirling Dervish open-cut mine
- Enterprise open-cut mine
- Deep South cut-back
- Wallbrook open-cut mine
Saracen has assembled an experienced board and management team who are rapidly advancing the project. This includes securing project financing, seeking necessary environmental approvals, employee recruitment, contract tendering, mill refurbishment and inital gold production.
