Red October open cut is situated on the margins of Lake Carey approximately 120km North East of the Carosue Dam processing plant and 15km South of the Sunrise Dam Mine. Scoping studies have identified potential for a cut-back on the existing pit followed by an underground operation. Red October currently has a resource of around 235,000 ounces. Previous open cut mining at Red October produced 539kt @ 6.5g/t reconciled grade, which indicates the high grade nature of this deposit. Future open pit and / or underground developments at Red October suggest a head grade in the vicinity of 7 to 10g/t.
