Million Dollar

The Million Dollar deposit is located in the Porphyry mining district and is located approximately 1km to the south of the Porphyry Pit. An existing shallow pit was mined by Edjudina Gold Mines at Million Dollar during the late 1980’s at the same time as mining was taking place underground at Porphyry. During this time approximately 133kt @ 2.02g/t for 8,600oz was mined from Million Dollar.

The three Million Dollar deposits show a flat, sub-horizontal tabular orebody with a general NS and NE trend with a generally gentle to moderate dip to the east. The deposits consist of Million Dollar Central, North and South and are similar to the Porphyry deposit in lithology, alteration, veining, structures and controls of gold mineralisation.

The mine plan at Million Dollar currently consists of four separate pits along a 1.4km strike length of the deposit. Current resources at Million Dollar stand at approximately 10.9Mt containing 355koz, with reserves of 2.7Mt for 104koz of gold. Ore mined from these three deposits will be transported by road train along the Porphyry to Carosue haul road, which runs immediately adjacent to the Million Dollar deposits.
